Building a (better) grocery shopping list with Fetch

I used to write down my shopping list on pieces of paper lying around my kitchen. But since downloading Fetch, I keep track of the point-earning items I’d like to buy by ‘hearting’ my offers

Here’s my latest grocery store shopping list I built with Fetch. It all rang up at under $100 and earned me…well, I won’t spoil the surprise. (it was a lot of points)

Here’s the breakdown.

My ‘Under $100’ budget-friendly shopping list

Woman picking items in refrigerated grocery aisle

To keep things organized, I broke up my list into 5 basic categories to make sure I was getting a good variety of items during my trip to the store.

Essentials

  • GOYA Canned Pinto & Kidney Beans – Buy 3, get 1,000 points
  • Progresso Tomato Soup – 600 points
  • Old El Paso taco shells – 1,500 points

Breakfast staples

  • Kodiak Flapjack & Waffle Mix – Spend 10, get 2,000 points
  • General Mills products – Buy 3, get 1,500 points
  • My picks: Cheerios, Nature Valley Breakfast bars, Yoplait

Bread, cheese & pasta

  • The Rustik Oven Sourdough – 850 points
  • Barilla Pasta – 10 points per dollar
  • Sargento Cheese – 10 points per dollar

Snacks

  • Sunchips – 600 points
  • Doritos Dinamita – 1,200 points

Condiments

  • JIF peanut butter – 1,000 points
  • Hellman’s Mayo – 2,000 points

Total spend: ~ $95
Total points: 12,000+ points

This was the first time I went shopping exclusively for offers and brands in the Fetch app, and the points added up faster than I expected. In the end, I picked up over 12,000 points on this single trip to the store.

NOTE: Offers and brands in the app are personalized just for you and vary for every user. Check out your app to see the point-earning opportunities waiting for you!

Bringing budget-friendly meal ideas to life

Hard shell tacos and toppings arranged on plates

Now that the shopping is done, I’m back in my kitchen and satisfied with my haul. Here’s how I plan on using the core items I purchased as the foundation for my breakfasts, lunches and dinner this week.

Easy breakfast recipes

Waffles w/ Whipped Cream & Berries

I’ll use whatever berries I have in my fridge and whip up some homemade whipping cream to pair with my Kodiak Waffle Mix. Bougie brunch at home? Yes, please.

Yogurt & Granola to Go
A container of Yoplait and a crushed up Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bar is my go-to breakfast when I oversleep and need something quick as I sprint out the door.

Quick lunch recipes

BLTs & Cs (Chips)

Some friends are coming to town this week. I’ll use my loaf of The Rustic Oven sourdough and Hellmann’s Mayo to whip up a couple BLT sandwiches for a quick and easy lunch. Paired with Sunchips and Doritos, of course.

Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup

As winter continues to chill me to my core, tomato soup and grilled cheese is a recipe that brings me back to life. I’ll use the rest of my sourdough, plus some Sargento sharp cheddar, to make the sandwich that will be dunked into my Progressive Tomato Soup.

Pro tip: grill your bread with a spread of mayonnaise for a deliciously crisp result. Thank you, Hellmann’s.

Easy dinner ideas

Taco Wednesday (I’m busy Tuesday, ok)

When I saw Old El Paso’s taco shells offer in the app, I knew tacos were on the menu this week. Some ground beef, a 4-cheese blend from Sargento, GOYA canned beans and a few of my favorite toppings is all I need to put my taco cravings to rest.

Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

The box of Barilla pasta I picked up will be perfect for my favorite pasta dish. It’s a classic Italian recipe that turns basic ingredients into a masterpiece of flavor. All you need is pasta, garlic, olive oil and chili flakes.

Start turning your groceries into gift cards with Fetch

I haven’t decided what kind of reward I’ll use my points for. After all this cooking, maybe I’ll treat myself to a gift card from Uber Eats. Perhaps I’ll grab an Amazon gift card and buy some tupperware for all my leftovers.

Or one of the hundreds of other gift cards that are waiting in the app for me.

I hope this shopping guide shows you just how quickly you can earn points on your next trip to the store. All it takes is a bit of planning and you can earn thousands of points in a snap.

Good luck and happy shopping!
