How Long to Cook Frozen Salmon in an Air Fryer

Since there’s virtually no prep time needed for preheating an oven or skillet, and there’s no need to defrost your salmon, this dish takes just 10-15 minutes in the air fryer. All you need is salmon and a few simple ingredients you likely have in your pantry from your last shopping haul.

How to Cook Frozen Salmon in an Air Fryer

To cook your salmon filet in the air fryer from frozen, try this quick and tasty recipe:

  1. Pull out of the freezer and pat dry any excess water or ice with a paper towel. This step is to avoid any mushiness from melting ice.
  2. Air fry your salmon for 7 minutes to defrost.
  3. Brush lightly with your oil of choice (we like olive oil), and salt and pepper to taste. For extra flavor, layer on some sliced lemons, and place back in your air fryer.
  4. Cook for an additional 3-7 minutes, depending on the thickness of your filets. Thin filets will cook in a shorter time.

How to Reheat Salmon in an Air Fryer

It’s important to reheat your salmon carefully so you aren’t stuck wolfing down dry or tough fish. Good leftovers start with good storage, so be sure you are storing your salmon in an air-tight container for no more than 3-4 days. Good salmon – even leftovers – should pass the “sniff test,” and not smell excessively fishy or have an air of ammonia.

To reheat salmon In the air fryer:

  1. Place a parchment paper or foil layer at the bottom.
  2. Add your salmon with a drizzle of oil and a bit of water.
  3. Cook for 4-5 minutes at 350°.
