The Best Roblox Tower Defense Games According to My 8-Year-Old

By Chris Pagnani

April 3, 2025

If there’s one thing my 8-year-old knows better than I do, it’s Roblox. Specifically, Roblox tower defense games. Whether he’s fending off waves of zombies or setting up futuristic defenses with cartoon characters, he’s got opinions—and lots of them—on which Roblox TD games are worth your time (and Robux).

So I sat down with my favorite tiny gamer to get the inside scoop. This list is all him—I’m just the parent typing it up and making sure you know how you can actually earn free Robux to play these games with help from Fetch.

Ready to get Robux rich? Try Fetch Play!

How to earn free Roblox gift cards with Fetch Play

Before we dive into the list, let’s talk about how to unlock Robux (for free!) without asking your kiddo to do extra chores.

With the Fetch app, you can earn rewards for everyday things like snapping your grocery receipts—but it gets even better with Fetch Play. Fetch Play gives you bonus points for playing mobile games (yes, really). Those points can be redeemed for free Roblox gift cards, and the whole process is super easy.

Here’s how to do it step by step:

  1. Download the Fetch app: If you don’t already have it, download Fetch from the App Store or Google Play.
  2. Go to the “Play” tab: Tap the “Play” icon to explore available mobile games.
  3. Choose a game and start playing: You’ll see a list of featured games that offer bonus points. Select a game, tap “Play Now,” and download it through the link provided.
    • Pro tip: You must download the game through Fetch for your progress to count!
  4. Complete tasks to earn points: Each game has specific tasks—like reaching a certain level or playing for a number of minutes. As you complete those goals, Fetch rewards you with points.
  5. Redeem your points for Roblox gift cards!

Once you’ve racked up enough points, tap on your point balance to go to the “Rewards” tab, search for “Roblox,” and redeem your points for a Roblox gift card. Boom—free Robux!

It’s seriously that easy. Your kid gets to play games, you earn rewards, and nobody has to open their wallet. Now that’s a parenting win.

What is a tower defense game?

For the grownups who might not be familiar: A tower defense game is all about strategy. You place different types of “towers” (which can be anything from cannons to superheroes) along a path, and those towers automatically attack waves of enemies trying to reach the end. The goal is to stop the bad guys before they get through.

Now in Roblox, tower defense gets way more creative. You’ll find everything from anime-style battles to zombie apocalypse vibes. It’s wild, it’s fun, and it’s highly addictive.

The 10 best tower defense games on Roblox (and which units to equip for each one)

Here are the games my son plays on repeat and insists are the absolute best tower defense games on Roblox, along with his review of each and his favorite units to equip if you want to win:

1. Tower Defense Simulator

This is the GOAT of tower defense simulator Roblox games. You start with basic towers, but as you defeat enemies, you unlock more powerful units like snipers, minigunners, and even DJ booths that boost your team.

Why it’s so popular: Tons of maps, constant updates, and the thrill of teaming up with friends to take down bosses.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “It’s just one of the OGs. You fight zombies, and I just think it’s really cool. Also, they have some fire emotes.”

His favorite units to equip: Scout, Sniper, Paintballer, Demoman, Soldier

2. Cheese Tower Defense

Yes, cheese. In this deliciously silly game, you defend a block of cheese from sneaky evil “gobblers” using mice that have all manner of special weapons and abilities.

Why it’s so popular: The goofy theme makes it fun for younger players, but the strategy is solid. Plus, who doesn’t love saving cheese?

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “I like it because my family is really into it, and we have so much fun playing it. It’s really cool because it has so many different types of units.”

His favorite units to equip: Cheese Summoner, Boxer Mouse, Archer Mouse, Clown Mouse, Rocket Rat

3. Skibidi Tower Defense

Inspired by the viral Skibidi Toilet memes, this game is chaos in the best way. Defend against waves of dancing toilet invaders using meme-inspired towers.

Why it’s so popular: It’s hilarious, fast-paced, and full of inside jokes Roblox kids love. The tower animations are over-the-top and fun to watch.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “Unlike Toilet Tower Defense, it sticks to the ‘blocky’ versions of units instead of switching between the blocky versions and human-like.”

His favorite units to equip: Upgraded Titan Rocketman, Summoner Pencilman, Icethrower, Upgraded Titan Drillman, Scientist Camerman

4. The House TD

The House TD imagery

Set inside a haunted house, this spooky tower defense game has you fending off ghosts, goblins, and creepy crawlies that sneak through tight corridors and secret passageways.

Why it’s so popular: The haunted theme is perfect for thrill-seekers. It’s both eerie and exciting with some surprisingly complex gameplay.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “I like the concept of it. Not many games have these ghostly things you can have as units, and you fight other ghostly things, which I think is pretty unique.”

His favorite units to equip: Demon Queen, Deadshot, Purge, The Mask, Bone Collector

5. Ball Tower Defense

Forget creepers and zombies—here, you’re fighting off waves of rolling balls! You place towers that shoot, spin, or zap the balls before they reach the goal.

Why it’s so popular: It’s colorful, fast-moving, and super satisfying to watch the chain reactions when balls get destroyed.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “I like the style of it, like, fighting different shapes. I also like how many different cool units there are with different blocks, just different geometry.”

His favorite units to equip: ElectricBall, Ball2.0, SniperBall, BombBall, DartMonkey

6. Ultimate Tower Defense Simulator

This one mashes up Marvel, DC, and anime characters into a single tower defense game. Want Spider-Man and Goku on your team? Done.

Why it’s so popular: The combos you can create are endless. It’s like building your own superhero squad.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “I like the funny names. I also like the bosses. And very anime-themed. It’s very calm, very peaceful.”

7. Noob Tower Defense

Simple name, endless fun. In this game, your towers are all Roblox “noobs” with funny animations and wacky weapons, but don’t let their looks fool you—they get powerful fast.

Why it’s so popular: It’s silly in the best way and great for younger players. Watching noobs take down big bosses is always entertaining.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “It’s cool because not many tower defense games feature any noobs. It’s just a unique concept of a game.”

His favorite units to equip: Pistoler, Soldier, Demolitionist, 1X1X1X1, Moderator

8. Toilet Tower Defense

Yes, you read that right. This game is as weird and hilarious as it sounds. You fight off evil toilets with—you guessed it—non-evil toilets.

Why it’s so popular: It’s goofy, chaotic, and surprisingly well-designed. Plus, the updates come fast, so there’s always something new to try.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “It’s really fun for people who are into the Skibidi Toilet genre because it has some fanmade units and it has some multiverse units, which I think is really cool.”

His favorite units to equip: Green Laser Cameraman, Santa TV Man, Titan Mogman, Upgraded Titan Cinemaman, Hyper Upgraded Titan Speakerman

9. Spongebob Tower Defense

Who lives in a pineapple and defends Bikini Bottom from enemies? YOU do—in this hilarious and action-packed Spongebob Tower Defense game! Build a squad using characters like Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, and Spongebob himself to stop underwater invaders before they reach your Krabby Patty supply.

Whether you’re a long-time fan or just love the chaos of jellyfish battles and Krusty Krab showdowns, this one’s a kid favorite.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “I like it because it updates every week, and I like it because it has so many different units to choose from.”

His favorite units to equip: Old Man Jenkins, Pearl, The Quickster, Hibernation Sandy, Dirty Dan

10. Horror Tower Defense

This one brings the spooky vibes! You’re defending your base from terrifying enemies like ghosts, evil clowns, and even haunted dolls. Each level gets creepier and harder.

Why it’s so popular: The dark atmosphere and creepy sound effects make it feel like you’re in a horror movie—but in Roblox form. It’s scary, but still totally kid-friendly.

Why my 8-year-old loves it: “This game features many different horror killers, and that’s a very unique tower defense game concept.”

His favorite units to equip: Ghost Woman, Ghost, Pyramid Enforcer, Frozen Freddy, Frozen Ghost
