The Iced Horchata Shaken Espresso has coffee lovers shook and is looking to join the ranks of the most popular Starbucks summer drinks of all time. The new shaken espresso isn’t alone, bringing a handful of new frappuccinos and past summer favorites with it.

What’s new on the Starbucks Summer Menu?

While the new shaken espresso is clearly the star of the show, it’s far from the only Starbucks summer drink that’s new for 2025.

Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

Starbucks Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso

For those who don’t know, horchata is a creamy and refreshing summer drink made from rice, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon. That sounds like the perfect pairing with espresso, and the Iced Horchata Oatmilk Shaken Espresso walks the line between sweet horchata and bold espresso perfectly.

Using Starbucks blonde espresso, this drink features a horchata syrup (cinnamon, sweet vanilla and nutty notes to give the taste of rice milk) and is shaken vigorously with oatmilk to create a light and bubbly coffee drink.

Fun fact: the shaken espresso on Starbucks’ menu used to be called the “Starbucks Double Shot,” as an in-cafe version of their canned espresso drink

Starbucks Strato Frappuccinos

Starbucks Salted Caramel Mocha Strato Frappuccino

Another new item for this summer is the Strato Frappuccino. Available in three varieties, this new take on Starbucks’ signature blended drink adds cold foam for a new layered flavor:

  1. Brown Sugar Strato Frappuccino is a coffee-based drink using the new brown sugar cold foam.
  2. Strawberry Matcha Strato Frappuccino features a matcha base with strawberry cream cold foam on top.
  3. Salted Caramel Mocha Strato Frappuccino is a classic frozen mocha base with salted caramel cold foam on top.

Starbucks Firework Frappucino

You’ll also find a Firework Frappuccino, which seems to be a Strato Frappuccino in all but name: it’s a frozen blended twist on the Summer-Berry Refresher made with strawberry puree and complete with the explosive raspberry pearls.

Best returning Starbucks summer drinks

If you loved the sweet/tart combo of Starbucks’ Lemonade Summer-Berry Refresher in 2024, it’s back for 2025. As with each refresher, the coconut milk version of the Summer-Berry Refresher also returns (the dreamy and relaxing “Summer Skies Drink”).

You can’t go wrong with some of the best Starbucks summer drinks of years past, now menu standards:

  • Strawberry Açaí Refresher
  • Pink Drink
  • Mango Dragonfruit Refresher
  • Dragon Drink
  • Blackberry Sage Refresher
  • Midnight Drink

Other Starbucks summer drinks

Looking for info on a Banana Caramel Frappuccino or a Cookie Dough Frappuccino? Rumors around these drinks have been swirling for a bit, but the best we can tell, they’re just fan-made drinks on the so-called “Starbucks Secret Menu.” We suggest sticking to the official menu for the best Starbucks summer drinks.

5 Most popular Starbucks summer drinks of all time

Your list of the best Starbucks summer drinks probably won’t be the same as mine, but these summer sippers are some of the most popular:

  1. Pink Drink: The best example of a “secret menu” drink becoming official, Starbucks even kept the simple name “Pink Drink.” This summer staple is the Strawberry Açaí Refresher made with coconut milk instead of water or lemonade.
  2. Dragon Drink: Following the Pink Drink naming convention, the Dragon Drink is the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher made with lightly creamy coconut milk.
  3. Paradise Drink: Don’t try to order this one at your Starbucks cafe, it’s a bottled drink you can grab on the go at retailers. While it’s similar to the Pineapple Passionfruit refresher (RIP), the Paradise Drink is its own thing, and you should grab one on your next grocery run.
  4. Cold Foam Cold Brew: As a fan of the now-discontinued Pistachio Cold Foam Cold Brew, you’ll find me with a cold foam cold brew in-hand on warm summer mornings. It’s a simple mix of bold cold brew with a sweet flavored foam on top, and it’s perfect.
  5. Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso: Another addition to the regular menu, the Iced Brown Sugar Shaken Espresso blends a brown sugar syrup, oatmilk and traditional Starbucks espresso in a shaken, sweet and highly-caffeinated treat that has powered many blogs (including this one).
