Each level challenges you to complete one or more “targets,” which you’ll find displayed when each level kicks off and at the upper left corner during gameplay. Match 3 or more same-colored items and you’ll complete a target. Complete each level within the number of turns allowed and you’ll move ahead.
Refreshingly simple yet fiendishly addictive! You can also create a special match item by matching 4 or more tiles or combine two special items for a powerful combo move.
Power-ups from matching 4 or more tiles include:
- Rocket: Clears an entire row or column.
- TNT: Destroys everything in a two-tile radius
- Propeller: Clears adjacent tiles before flying to another part of the board, removing whatever it hits.
- Light Ball: Either swap with a tile to clear all of the same color or tap to remove the board’s most common tile type.
Boosters earned by performing different actions include:
- Royal Hammer: Removes one tile.
- Arrow: Clears a row.
- Cannon: Clears a column.
- Jester Hat: Shuffles the board.
Is Royal Match free to play?
Royal Match is free to download from both the App Store and Google Play, and you’re never forced to pay to win, progress, or simply keep playing.
You do have the option to buy coins, which can be used for purchasing power-ups, boosters, lives, and additional moves, but you don’t need to pay for coins if you don’t want to.
