What is Top Troops & how do I play?

Top Troops is a fantasy-based match-and-merge mobile RPG game available for both iOS and Android devices. The objective is to merge troops of the same kind in order to rank them up (i.e. upgrade them) and then strategically combine your varied units before sending them into battle. Each of the different units possess their own unique skill set, so having a wide range of skills represented among your army could help lead to success on the battlefield. As you upgrade your troops and defeat rival armies in battle, you will be able to conquer new lands and grow your kingdom!

Is Top Troops free to play?

Yes, Top Troops is totally free to play, just like Fetch is free to download. While playing Top Troops, you’ll occasionally get asked if you’d like to spend money on items that can help you progress through the game and level-up your units, but these transactions are completely optional; you don’t need to spend any money to play Top Troops at your own pace.

Can I make money playing Top Troops?

Through daily gameplay in Top Troops, you can earn coins and gold, but these in-game currencies don’t have real-world value. That’s why it’s so important to play Top Troops through Fetch Play; with Fetch Play, your time spent playing Top Troops will earn you Fetch Points, which you can then redeem for gift cards to Amazon, Target, Visa, Starbucks, and so many more of the places you shop on a regular basis!

How to earn gift cards playing Top Troops with Fetch Play

To start earning free gift cards simply for playing games like Top Troops on your phone:

  1. Download Fetch, and open the app.
  2. From the Social tab (which looks like a silhouette of a trophy), navigate to the “Play” tab.
  3. Browse your available game library, and start downloading games; all Fetch Play games are free to download!
  4. Play games on your phone whenever you have a few spare minutes, and earn points for completing in-game tasks.
  5. Once you have enough points (you can view your points balance in the top-right corner of the screen), go to the Rewards tab and redeem your points for the gift card of your choice. It’s that easy!

How to merge units in Top Troops

In order to rank up your units, you’ll need complete successful merges of at least three units.

To merge three units:

  1. Drag one of the units over the other two units, and let it go.
  2. You’ll then receive a ranked-up unit.

What If I Merge Five Units Instead of Three?

Rather than receive just one ranked-up unit, as you would for a merge-three, you will get two ranked-up units when you complete a merge-five.

Top Troops hacks, tips & tricks

If you’re going to be successful in ranking up your units, winning battles, and expanding your territory, there are a few key basics you’ll want to know going into the game. Here are Fetch’s essential Top Troops tips and tricks to help you start leveling up quickly.

How to rank up units in Top Troops

How you rank up your units will vary based on the rarity of your squad.

To rank up units among Common and Rare Squads:

  1. Merge three or five units to obtain one or two units of the next rank.

To up up Epic and Legendary Units:

  1. Head to the Ascension Hall.
  2. Fill the requirement slots, which can include a copy of the unit you want to level up or units of lower rank/rarity.
  3. Receive your ranked-up unit.

How does the Training Camp work?

The Training Camp is where you can generate soldiers for your army. Simply choose the type of unit you want to train and tap “+” to get started. In order to use the Training Camp, you will need to have certain resources at your disposal, such as gold, dust of a particular rarity, and potentially even Faction Dust (if your training is for specific factions only).

Where do I find level-up materials?

For every five levels, there are specific materials you need to gather in order to level up your squad and make it stronger; these materials vary based on the rarity of the squad you’re leveling up. The main place to find these materials is the Adventure Map, but you can also acquire different materials through quests, the Kingdom Pass, and at both towers.

What is gear used for?

Gear is unlocked once you reach the 15th battle in the Dark Map in Adventure Mode and is used to increase the stats of a unit. The type of gear in particular will determine which stats will be improved; while a piece of gear will primarily improve one specific stat, it has the potential to improve other stats as well as you level up the gear, depending on its rarity.

There are four different levels of gear rarity:

  • Common (max level 3): Improves 1 main stat only, but no secondary stats
  • Rare (max level 6): Improves 1 main stat and 1 secondary stat (can be unlocked at level 6)
  • Epic (max level 9): Improves 1 main stat and 2 secondary states (can be unlocked at levels 6 and 9)
  • Legendary (max level 12): Improves 1 main stat and 3 secondary stats (can be unlocked at levels 6, 9, and 12)

What are the different Daily Missions?

There are eight different Daily Missions:

  • Play a certain number of Adventure Battles
  • Play a certain number of Arena Battles
  • Pop a certain number of Divine Particles
  • Level up a certain number of units
  • Perform a certain number of 5-unit merges
  • Collect units from the Training Camp
  • Collect gold from mines a certain number of times
  • Claim your once-a-day free pack at the shop

How to redeem codes in Top Troops

In Top Troops, all resources are able to be obtained through battles and in-game offers; there is no option to redeem any kind of promo code within the game.

How to save my progress in Top Troops

Here’s how to save your game progress in Top Troops:

  1. Tap the “Settings” menu in the top-right of the screen.
  2. Click on “Save Progress.”
  3. You’ll then get a pop-up asking to connect via the Game Center or Facebook options on an iOS device or the Google Play or Facebook options on an Android device.

It’s worth noting that:

  • You can only connect one game account to one Game Center / Google Play / Facebook account.
  • If you save your game using Facebook, you can then access your account across different platforms (iOS, Android); if you save via Game Center or Google Play, you are only able to access your account on a device of the same kind (either iOS or Android).
